The Convergence
A seven-day encounter at the nexus of architecture and art, bringing together distinguished African artists, collectors and cultural leaders through curated exhibitions and conversations shaped by NeoHeritage.
About the show
The Convergence puts architecture and art in the same room and asks them to answer each other. For seven days the Ecobank Pan African Centre on Victoria Island becomes a floor of curated exhibitions and conversations, shaped by NeoHeritage and gathering African artists, collectors and cultural leaders.
The studio shows its carved wood work there: the relief panels and the grid of carved faces on the gallery wall, and the low carved chairs set out on the floor to be walked around rather than looked at from a distance. Hung next to painting and sculpture from the rest of the programme, the pieces read the way they were meant to — as architecture at the scale of a room.
